Fans spot Andy Robertson’s ’embarrassing’ attempt to put off Mason Greenwood

Andy Robertson has been labelled embarrassing after his attempt to put Mason Greenwood off was spotted by fans during the fourth round FA Cup clash.

Manchester United teenager Greenwood drew the hosts level in the first half after being picked out brilliantly by Marcus Rashford.

Greenwood had to provide a smart finish on the angle from just inside the box to beat Alisson.

And replays showed that Robertson, who had been left for dead behind him, appeared to shout at Greenwood as he tried to close him down in an attempt to put him off.

The Scotland captain was slammed on Twitter for his unsuccessful attempt, with some labelling it “s***housery”, while other simply called him “embarrassing”.

“Andy Robertson bringing out his inner s****bag roaring at greenwood trying to put him off,” wrote one. “Embarrassing for a player of his level. Lovely finish.”

A second added: “What a p**** Robertson looks trying to put Greenwood off by screaming at him, ice cold.”

“Andy Robertson should have been booked for shouting in Greenwood's ear while he shot. It's unsporting behaviour,” a third tweeted.

Another put: “Surely that’s some form of obstruction from Robertson if Greenwood misses? At best complete s***housery because he knew he was beaten.”

Another criticised the Scot, putting: “Andy Robertson shouting at Greenwood as he was about to shoot, the kind of sportsmanship you expect to see on a Sunday morning down the local rec. Didn't put him off though did it, t***!”
