Casemiro has been roasted on Twitter by football fans after a video emerged online of him being ‘sat down’ by Jack Grealish during Manchester City’s 6-3 demolition of Manchester United on Sunday.

The defensive midfielder, who arrived at Carrington from Real Madrid this summer for a £70million fee, came on as a substitute just on the hour mark.

But the Brazilian, who is yet to start a Premier League game this season, was given a tough introduction to the Manchester derby by Jack Grealish, who embarrassed the 30-year-old with a ‘rude’ piece of skill that sent the United player falling backwards on his heels.

It was a difficult afternoon for Erik ten Hag’s side, who were 4-0 down at half-time after Phil Foden and Erling Haaland both scored a brace before the break.

The Man Utd manager sought to sure things up after half-time, bringing on Luke Shaw and then Casemiro, with the Brazilian making only his fourth appearance for the club since joining.

And it might be one he may want to forget quickly for several reasons, particularly after Grealish sent him falling to the turf.

Fans on Twitter have been reacting to the superb piece of footwork by the England international while brutally mocking the former Real Madrid star’s slip-up.

‘How can Grealish sit Casemiro down like that,’ said one fan.

Another added: ‘Jack Grealish ended Casemiro before he could have his first touch of the game.’

After joining Real Madrid in 2015, Casemiro has won five Champions League titles and has played alongside and against some of the greats of world football, making 336 appearances while scoring 31 goals for Los Blancos.

But his introduction to the Manchester derby was less than smooth and fans did not hold back on the former Madrid man.

One wrote: ‘Grealish dropped Casemiro, welcome to the Premier League,’ while another claimed, ‘Grealish just sent Casemiro back to Madrid.’

‘Grealish just sat Casemiro down, that was rude,’ said another Twitter user.

Erik ten Hag believes Casemiro will be key for United after he joined the club from Real

Ten Hag explained after the match why the Brazilian is yet to make a start in the Premier League following the drubbing at the Etihad.

He said: ‘The team is doing really well, it’s not against Casemiro, it’s for, in this case, Scott McTominay, he performed great in the team and then we get into a run.

‘But I’m sure it will be important for us in the long and short-term, he will find himself in the team but it has to come in a natural way.’
