Fans reckon Inter star is ‘in the Matrix’ after pefect dodge against Barcelona
Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries pulled off a skilled Neo impression during their Champions League triumph over Barcelona with fans saying he 'went full Matrix' in a bid to avoid scoring an own goal.
The 26-year-old Netherlands international played the last 15 minutes of the Group C encounter at the San Siro and caught the eye of spectators having come on for Federico Dimarco.
With Simone Inzaghi's men holding onto a slender lead supplied by Hakan Calhanoglu on the brink of half-time, a corner bounced deep into the box and bouncing past Milan Skriniar towards Dumfries.

Rather than allowing the ball to hit him in the face and potentially travel goalwards, Dumfries pulled off an identical dodge to that of Keanu Reeves' sci-fi protagonist to send it out for a corner.
One fan then wrote on: "Man went full matrix."
With a second adding: "Dumfries is in the matrix."
And a third agreeing: "Dumfries doing up matrix moves."
With a fifth concluding: "Dumfries hit the matrix dodge."

Inter went on to claim all three points with their 1-0 victory over Xavi's men, now sitting second behind Bayern Munich in the Group C table three points above the Spaniards.
Another stand-out moment from the fixture was Xavi's fury when a Pedri goal was ruled out by VAR for an alleged handball by Ansu Fati.
In addition, Calhanoglu avoided a red card for a high challenge on Sergio Busquets, with Dumfries also getting away with a handball of his own.
Xavi said: "I am p***** off and outraged by the situation we have had to live. There is no other word than outrage. It is an injustice.
"I already said yesterday that the referees must explain themselves. We do not understand anything. The referee would have to speak, who is a very important figure in this sport. It would humanise him much more.
"I must not speak for a decision I have not made. For me the hand is very clear. The referee should give explanations. His decisions have been decisive."
