Fans were left dumbstruck by Eden Hazard's astonishing miss during Belgium's Nations League clash versus Poland.
Hazard captained his nation to a 6-1 victory on Wednesday night. It came as a rare solid performance for the former Chelsea player, who only started a handful of games for Real Madrid throughout the 2021/22 season.
The 31-year-old playmaker was able to notch an assist but couldn't get on the scoresheet as Belgium triumphed in their Group D fixture. Yet the Real Madrid star's overall solid performance was marred by a horrendous miss which quickly drew criticism from fans across social media.
Striker Michy Batshuayi struck the post, which sent the ball neatly into Hazard's path for the rebound. But with the goal gaping and just the keeper to beat, the former PFA Player of the Year shockingly side-footed the ball wide of the woodwork.
One Twitter user posted the clip with the caption: "Nah hazard is finished now!! W** is this miss????!!!!"
Another wrote: "Hazard missed this… it's time to move on."
A third added: "Hazard should just retire now how do you miss that?"

The ex Chelsea magician himself was not fazed by the miss, addressing it in his post-match with a defiant statement, which also addressed his lack of minutes for the European Champions.
Hazard said: "I will become the player I was again after stringing together games and minutes. Tonight, I just missed a little goal, but I hope it will come in the next matches."
He will be hoping for more solid performances against Wales and Poland again as he looks to turn over a new leaf at Real Madrid next season. The winger only registered one goal and a single assist across 23 games in all competitions last campaign, continuing his thus-far disastrous Los Blancos career since leaving Stamford Bridge in 2019 for an eye-watering £90million.
