Fans react as Grealish seen training at Aston Villa despite Kane skipping Spurs’

Jack Grealish has returned to Aston Villa training on Monday after receiving an extended summer holiday following the European Championships.

The 25-year-old was the subject of a £100million bid from Premier League champions Manchester City on Friday and his club are yet to respond to the offer.

He returned to the UK on Saturday after holidaying in Mykonos and Croatia following England's Euros final defeat to Italy in July.

In contrast, fellow City target Harry Kane did not report for training at Tottenham Hotspur on Monday despite being expected to begin his pre-season preparations and is instead hoping to push through a move.

Villa fans have reacted gleefully after the club posted footage from training on Monday that showed Grealish warming up alongside his teammates.

One replied to the tweet saying "He's here and he's beautiful," whilst another added "Hello Jacky Boy."

Some fans, however, remain unconvinced that the Villa captain will remain at the club beyond this summer despite his return to training.

"Oh admin. I see him. Just announce it. Put me out my misery," commented one supporter on the tweet which has 4,000 likes in just two hours.

"You can't do this to us," added another with it being widely reported that Villa are expected to accept City's bid, which would be both a club record and a British record transfer fee.

Some fans pointed out the differences between the actions of Grealish and Kane with both having been due to return to training on Monday but Kane remaining absence from the Spurs training ground.

"Grealish shows up whilst Kane is AWOL, whatever happens our skipper has shown his class UTV," declared one proud Villa fan.

Another fan was even harsher on Kane, stating "Jack Grealish turns up to training? Bit more classy than Kane obviously."

Kane was absent from training on Monday through choice and did not return a positive Covid test that would have ruled him out of training.

The England captain believes he has a 'gentlemen's agreement' with the club allowing him to leave this summer after he stated his intention to move earlier this year.

City are the frontrunners for Kane and the player wants to join the reigning Premier League champions, but City are only willing to pay £120million for him.

This is some way shy of Spurs' asking price, with Daniel Levy wanting a fee worth £160million if he is to allow Kane to depart the club this summer.
