- Sergio Ramos was a second-half substitute for PSG in their draw at Lorient
- The Spaniard was booked in the 81st minute for a high boot in the stalemate
- He was then however sent off after cynically blocking Terem Moffi’s path to goal
- It was the 27th red card of his career, with previous 26 coming at Real Madrid
Fans on social media have taunted Sergio Ramos after he was sent off for the 27th time in his club career in just his third game for Paris Saint-Germain.
The former Real Madrid star – who joined the Ligue 1 giants in the summer – came on in the second half of Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s 1-1 draw at Lorient.
But he was booked for a high foot nine minutes from time and then picked up a second booking five minutes later after cynically blocking Terem Moffi’s path to goal before theatrically throwing himself to the ground.

The 35-year-old however was unhappy at the referee’s decision to give him his marching orders while also protesting the decision to the fourth official after coming off the pitch.
But fans on Twitter were not going to let the incident pass by without poking fun at the Spain defender, with one tweeting: ‘Sergio Ramos and red cards. A perfect love story.’
Others tweeted along similar lines, with one posting: ‘Sergio Ramos and red card, name a better duo I would wait’, while another added: ‘When they build the Sergio Ramos statue, it should either be of him sneering at a fallen forward or him disgusted at being carded.’

Others seemed to delight in his dismissal, with another tweeting: ‘Sergio Ramos has been sent off for the first time for PSG! He’s well and truly BACK!’
Another added in jest: ‘Sergio Ramos did again today… king of red cards my goat,’ while another said: ‘It’s in the DNA of the Sergio Ramos.’
In the top five leagues, Ramos has received 21 red cards – eight more than his nearest competitor in the form of ex-Portsmouth, Inter Milan and AC Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari.
It was however Ramos’ first red card for the French capital side, with his previous 26 all coming in his 16-year stay at Madrid, but he is now only behind ex-Colombia star Gerardo Bedoya, who was sent off 46 times.
But Pochettino’s men still managed to salvage something in the game, with Mauro Icardi netted an equaliser in the first minute of stoppage time after Thomas Monconduit had given Lorient the lead.
