Tottenham fans have mocked Bayern Munich’s cinematic unveiling of Harry Kane.

The England captain has finally completed his move to the German champions for a fee which could rise to £120m, signing a four-year contract.

In announcing his arrival, Bayern got Kane dressed up in a tuxedo. The 22-second video features shots outside a cinema and of a ticket with Kane’s name on before the man himself turns to the camera and says “action”.

However, the video has been branded “cringe” by mourning Spurs supporters. One said: “For a signing as big as Kane that’s a cringe announcement. Doesn’t surprise me though.”

Another said: “So cringe lol.” A third added: “What a terrible announcement video for one of the best players in the world!”

A fourth admitted: “The stuff of nightmares. I would have done a couple more takes personally.”

As his move was confirmed, Kane issued a heartfelt message to Spurs fans on social media.

“I felt like this was the time to leave,” he said. “I didn’t want to go into the season with a lot of unresolved future talk. I think it’s important for the new manager and the players to concentrate on trying to get Tottenham back to around the top of the table. So I wish the boys all the very best of luck.”

“I’ll be watching from a fan point of view now and really hope the team can be successful. This is a message to all you fans around the world, every single Tottenham fan that’s supported me and been with me throughout my journey. Me and my family will cherish it forever. We’ll never forget all the moments we’ve had together.

“So thank you, I’ll be watching this season. Good luck to Tottenham, good luck to the whole club. [It's] not a goodbye because you never know how things pan out in the future. It’s a thank you and I’ll see you soon.”

With Kane signed, Bayern are now looking to get him registered in time to play a part in tonight’s German Super Cup against RB Leipzig.
