Fans hail Man Citys unsung hero of Man Utd rout who cost just £15million
Unsung Manchester City hero Manuel Akanji played a key role in their demolition of rivals Manchester United – having only cost the club £15million on a five-year deal in the summer.
Akanji was somewhat of a surprise signing from Borussia Dortmund with the Switzerland international making only his second Premier League appearance with a start in the derby.
The 27-year-old played the full 90 minutes in the centre of defence alongside Nathan Ake – with Twitter singling him out after City cruised to a 6-3 victory at the Etihad.

With Erling Haaland and Phil Foden both scoring hat-tricks, Antony got one back for United before Anthony Martial's brace made it 6-3 at full-time.
Shortly after full-time, City's official Twitter account paid tribute to the performance of Akanji by writing: "96% pass completion from Akanji this afternoon.
"A solid Manchester derby debut!"
