Fans have been left fuming at the camera angle used for the Champions League final and claimed it might as well be in Belgium.

Once the match at the Stade de France in Paris finally got underway, viewers were left unimpressed by the camera angle used in the coverage. The kick-off time in the French capital was pushed back twice due to the issues outside the stadium, with Liverpool and Real Madrid finally taking to the field at 8:30pm.

However, the camera angle once the match started saw a number of fans flock to Twitter to fume at the television pictures.

One angered viewer wrote: "Is this camera in a different stadium?" Whilst another added: "Where the f*** have they put the tv camera, f*****g Belgium? It’s about 400 miles away from the pitch."

A third fan also tweeted: "Wtf is this camera angle?" With another joining the conversation by adding: "The camera appears to think its in the Newcastle away end."

One more viewer simply wrote "Love the camera angle here…" as they criticised the pictures used for the coverage of Saturday night's final.

Despite their issues with the camera angle, fans were treated to a dramatic ending to the first half as Real Madrid appeared to have taken the lead in the closing stages.

After Alisson failed to gather a loose ball inside the penalty area, Karim Benzema stroked the ball into an empty net following a scramble on the edge of the six-yard box.

However, Benzema was in an offside position when the ball was prodded in his direction, with the VAR officials adjudging that Federico Valverde had touched the ball before it deflected into the Frenchman's path.

Prior to the disallowed goal, Liverpool had twice been denied by Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who produced a pair of stunning saves to keep out both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
