Fans find photos of Joey Barton backing ‘Her Game Too’ before female pundit rant
Football fans have uncovered photos of Joey Barton backing the 'Her Game Too' campaign before he launched into a rant about female pundits.
Barton took to social media on Wednesday evening to suggest men who listen to women's commentary on men's football games "need their heads testing". The ex-Manchester City and Newcastle midfielder then doubled down on his rant adding that "women shouldn’t be talking with any kind of authority in the men’s game."
Fans were outraged – even more so when images emerged of Barton backing the Her Game Too movement as boss of Bristol Rovers. He was sacked by the League One outfit back in October after a poor run of form.

Founded in 2021, Her Game Too aims to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of their background, ability, or gender.
In an attempt to promote inclusion, reps from the football club often snap fans holding a sign for the organisation. And an image of Barton posing with a Her Game Too sign went viral shortly after his rant.

Barton continued with his rant on Thursday morning, slamming those who disagreed with him "eunuchs" – a man who has been castrated – and "fart parcels".
He posted: "Stand by everything I’ve said on Women commenting and co-comms on the Men’s football. Like me talking about Knitting or Netball. Way out of my comfort zone.
"Some of the Men are bad enough! We have gone too far. You cannot watch a game now without hearing the nonsense. Any man who says otherwise is an absolute fart parcel."
