Fans confused as Arsenal supporters leave Emirates early despite Chelsea win

Football fans were left confused as they spotted Arsenal fans leaving the Emirates Stadium en masse despite the Gunners leading against Chelsea.

Arsenal went back to the summit of the Premier League on Tuesday evening, as a first-half flurry proved too much for Frank Lampard's side. Noni Madueke pulled one back for the Blues, but that was as good as it got for Chelsea.

However, if Chelsea had managed to mount a comeback in the latter stages of the game, some Arsenal fans would not have seen it. Fans slammed the Gunners fans on Twitter, with some pointing out that the Premier League title is still in play.

One fan tweeted: "Arsenal can still potentially win the league, and fans are leaving in the 83rd minute. So disrespectful!"

"Arsenal fans leaving early! We cannot let this fan base win a league title. Come on City," a second added. While a third added: "Pathetic from Arsenal fans leaving!"

"Loads of Arsenal fans left before the final whistle, which is baffling to me," a fourth tweeted. And another added: "Arsenal going back to the top of the league with that win and 10 mins before full time the fans have left the ground?"

The Gunners are back at the top of the table, but Manchester City could reclaim their spot at the summit if they win one of the two games in hand they hold over Arsenal.

City welcomes West Ham to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday evening, as they look to win their third Premier League title on the spin, and put themselves in a position for a treble this season.
