A Liverpool fan has been slammed for playing a game on his phone during the thrilling 4-3 win over Tottenham.

The Reds’ win at Anfield on Sunday was one of the Premier League games of the season, with the home side scoring three in the opening 15 minutes. Spurs mounted a valiant comeback in the second half as ex-Everton striker Richarlison scored a 93rd minute equaliser against his former rivals.

But that was not the end of the drama. Diogo Jota had one more surprise in store, capitalising on a loose Lucas Moura back pass before firing in the winner just a minute later.

The epic finale cemented the match as an instant classic as even the managers appeared to become heated on the touchline. Though there was one supporter in the Liverpool end that seemed unbothered by it all.

A video clip which has since gone viral on social media shows a fan in the upper sections of Anfield focused on playing a game on his phone while the action unfolded. And other fans were left seething with the individual, who was one of the few not adding to the electric atmosphere inside the ground.

One Twitter user wrote: “What’s the point in going to a game if you’re just going to sit playing a game on your phone while it’s on?”

Another Liverpool fan tweeted: “Makes me fume as I would have been singing my heart out if I had his seat!”

A third raged: “Absolute joke. Hundreds of proper fans desperate to go to the game and he gets one!!”

A fourth simply wrote: “Lifetime ban.”

"Tourist ground. He’ll be at The Beatles Tour in half an hour followed by a beer and a selfie in The Cavern. Anfield is rife with them," claimed another.
