Fabregas taunts Spurs, names Gerrard as best opponent and gives Conte opinion

Ex-Arsenal and Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas has spilled all during a tell-all Q&A – and took a cheeky swipe at struggling rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The Spaniard, who now plays for Monaco, celebrated 18 years since turning professional on Thursday.

Fabregas, 34, toasted to the milestone by answering questions on Twitter from fans keen to delve into his exceptional career.

He won the World Cup once and Euros twice with Spain, along with Premier League and La Liga titles for Chelsea and Barcelona respectively.

Manchester United fans will undoubtedly be interested in his answer as to who the toughest coach he ever played for was.

He simply replied: "Antonio Conte."

The Red Devils have been linked with the Italian following their disastrous 5-0 home defeat to bitter rivals Liverpool, leaving Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on the brink.

The midfielder wasted no time in picking the world's best 'false 9', a position pioneered in Spain and one occasionally fulfilled by Fabregas himself.

"Firmino, easy", he replied.

Of course, he had time to take a pop at Spurs, who are struggling under new boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

They are also suffering from a disastrous nosedive in form from captain Harry Kane since his move to Manchester City fell through.

He refused to pick between Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard, who were the subject of debate for England's selection, but he did pick the Liverpool legend as his toughest opponent in a different question.

And there's more good news for Liverpool fans, as Fabregas thinks Anfield is the best stadium he's played at.

Fabregas said: "Against, most probably Anfield. Loved playing there."

There was some slack cut for Chelsea star Timo Werner, who has become famous for failing to score chances since moving to Stamford Bridge.

But Fabregas said: "He makes so many good runs but sometimes they either don’t see him or don’t play the pass. Looks fed up sometimes

"Would you have liked to play in Italy, and if so which team? Never say never."

Ex-Arsenal star Alexander Hleb was chosen as the most under-appreciated player he played with, while Robin Van Persie was considered the most intelligent.
