Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he ‘misses’ coaching in the Premier League and would consider a return to England’s top-flight.

The former Tottenham and Southampton boss – who was most recently at PSG – also revealed that he is ‘open’ to an international management position for his next job.

Having been relieved of his duties at the Parc Des Princes in July, talks of his return to management have been rife and the Argentine has seemingly hinted that he will be back in the dugout soon.

The Argentine coach spent five seasons in charge of English top-flight side Tottenham

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Pochettino said: ‘It wasn’t under my consideration to go [into international management] but now, yes I am open. Why not?

‘Yes, of course we are still young, full of energy, and day-by-day I like the adrenaline to train, to be involved. Maybe the national team is a different job, but why not.

‘If it’s not the next job, then maybe in the future. It’s not specific that all I want is Argentina. If another country, why not? For sure, that would be good also.’

The Argentine is now looking to take on the fifth managerial role of his career after stints at Espanyol, Southampton, Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain.

In a separate interview, with talkSPORT, the 50-year-old coach admitted that not only was he considering an international position but also a return to England.

He said: ‘I miss the Premier League. Why not [return], we are open! I am really open. I love England and I am living between London and Barcelona, but more in London.

‘My house, my home… I love to be in England. The Premier League is the best league in the world. It’s so competitive.’

Pochettino was dismissed of his last role in England – at north London side Spurs –  in 2019, with the side sitting 14th in the league.

However, any Spurs or Southampton fan will tell you of the wonders that Pochettino is able to conjure up.

During his five years at Tottenham, he pioneered them to their second ever inclusion in the Champions League after just two seasons. In 2019, he took them to their first ever final in the competition – which they lost 2-0 to Liverpool.

With the Saints, he guided the side to an 8th placed finish during their second season back in the top-flight – having only earned promotion in 2012.

He also spent two years with Southampton where he led them to respectable league finishes
