From Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich to Ajax and Sporting Lisbon, there are a long list of former Premier League stars that achieved major honours this season after moving abroad.

With the more obvious champions like Romelu Lukaku and Luis Suarez, there are those who failed to impress in England before finding their feet in different territories.

Inter Milan's victorious squad under former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte includes as many as six players who have played on our shores, with four at Bayern Munich in Germany.

Daily Star Sport have now detailed 22 players that have won one of the top six league titles this season, five of which used to line up for Manchester United.

Ligue 1 – Lille

Renato Sanches and Jose Fonte.

Renato Sanches joined Lille on a permanent deal from Bayern back in August of 2019, having failed to impress in his loan at Swansea during the 2017/18 campaign.

His 21 appearances in all competitions helped Christophe Galtier's side to Ligue 1 glory for the first time since 2011, ending the hopes of Mauricio Pochettino's PSG.

That Lille side is captained by former Crystal Palace, Southampton and West Ham defender Jose Fonte, who remains a key part of the current Portugal side at the age of 35.

Serie A – Inter Milan

Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku, Ashley Young, Christian Eriksen, Matteo Darmian and Aleksandar Kolarov.

Former Manchester United stars Sanchez, Lukaku, Young and Darmian helped Conte's men to league glory this season and end a run of nine consecutive Juventus titles.

Lukaku spearheaded the attack which was assisted by Sanchez and Eriksen, the latter of which working his way into the side after a poor start to the season.

Kolarov also won another league title following his switch from Roma, marking a fine week for him as former side Manchester City lifted another Premier League title.

Primeira Liga – Sporting Lisbon

Sebastian Coates and Joao Mario.

Former Liverpool and Sunderland defender Sebastian Coates captained Sporting to Primeira Liga glory this season in a team that included Joao Mario on loan from Inter.

While Uruguay defender Coates spent four seasons in the Premier League, Mario had a brief spell on loan at West Ham during the 2017/18 campaign, scoring twice.

Ruben Amorim's side won the league for the first time since way back in 2001/02, finishing five points ahead of a Porto squad that includes Marko Grujic and Malang Sarr.

La Liga – Atletico Madrid

Kieran Trippier, Luis Suarez and Lucas Torreira.

Trippier has bounced back from falling out of favour at Tottenham by helping Diego Simeone's underdogs to La Liga glory on the final day of the season in Spain.

Suarez smashed home 21 goals to hit back at former side Barcelona, with Arsenal loanee Torreira making a respectable 19 appearances and scoring once during the campaign.

Trippier will be looking to take his good form into the European Championships with England, with Gareth Southgate being a long term fan of the defender.

Bundesliga – Bayern Munich

Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Jerome Boateng.

Gnabry managed 10 league goals for Bayern this season as he continues to shine in Germany after struggling to make an impact with Arsenal and on loan at West Brom.

Sane has now added Bundesliga glory to his two Premier League titles, with Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting winning his third league honour after back-to-back victories with PSG.

Boateng won the Bundesliga for a ninth season in a row after leaving Manchester City, and is now set to find a new challenge with his time at the club coming to an end.

Eredivisie – Ajax

Maarten Stekelenburg, Davy Klaassen, Dusan Tadic, Daley Blind and Sebastien Haller.

Ajax lifted the Eredivisie title this month having missed out in 2019/20 after the season was voided.

Former Southampton playmaker Dusan Tadic captained the side, with Everton flop Davy Klaassen and former United defender Daley Blind playing key roles under Erik ten Hag.

While former Fulham and Everton stopper Stekelenburg played a reduced role, Haller managed 11 goals in just 19 appearances from the bench after leaving West Ham.
