Ex-Miss Croatia defies Qatari dress code again by donning low cut top in stadium

Former Miss Croatia Ivana Knoll has continued to defy Qatar's dress code by donning a low cut top inside the Al Janoub Stadium.

The stunning model has caught the eye at the World Cup with her plunging outfits as she cheers on Croatia from the stands, despite being criticised by locals for her choice of clothing. Visiting fans have been urged to follow the host nation's dress code by covering their shoulders and avoiding wearing short skirts in public.

However, that did not stop Knoll for her side's last 16 meeting with Japan on Monday as she wore a matching long-sleeved low cut top and socks.

She also had a bow in her hair, which again came in Croatia's iconic red and white chequered design, with a belt in the same colours tied around her denim skirt.

Posting a pair of images of her herself in the stands to Instagram, she also wrote in the caption: "Let’s go." Knoll had earlier been pictured taking selfies with Japan fans before the match.

Her racy outfits have caused a stir in Qatar, with the model attending each of Croatia's four matches at the tournament so far. A group of local fans were even seen snapping pictures of her as she walked past at one match.

After an image of them taking the pictures of them went viral, a Qatari entrepreneur claimed they had only done so as they disapproved of her outfit.

Mohammed Hassan Al-Jefairi was quoted by the Daily Mail explaining: “Just for your info they take a photo not because they like her but because they don't like the way she is mis-dressed on regards to our culture. You can confirm this with any local Qatari, probably to report it.”

Despite the criticism, Knoll would have been pleased with what she saw on the pitch, as Croatia advanced 3-1 on penalties to reach the last eight.

Ivan Perisic's header cancelled out Daizen Maeda's opener before Japan missed three of their four spot-kicks. Croatia will face either Brazil or South Korea in the quarter-finals.
