Ex-Man Utd star Rafael aims dig at rivals Man City over Champions League
Former Manchester United full-back Rafael has aimed a dig at rivals Manchester City, after they reached the Champions League final for the first time in their history.
City beat last season's finalists Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 on aggregate in their semi-final tie and they will now face either Chelsea or Real Madrid in the final later this month.
However, Rafael, who won three Premier League titles during his time at United, was part of a Lyon side which had a great record against City in Europe and he took to social media to remind them of that fact.
He tweeted: "When Lyon is not playing against city we see what happen… @OL"
Lyon have faced City three times in the Champions League and they are unbeaten against them.
The French side were drawn in City's group in the 2018-19 edition and they beat them 2-1 at the Etihad, before drawing 2-2 at home.
Last season, Lyon eliminated City in the quarter-finals, with goals from Maxwel Cornet and Moussa Dembele earning them a 3-1 win.
Guardiola later said that he felt "responsible" for the defeat, having made the decision to start with an unfamiliar back three formation.
This season, though, City are targeting redemption and hoping to lift the trophy, with Guardiola saying that reaching the final "makes sense of what we have done in the past four or five years".
Speaking to BT Sport after their win over PSG, he said: "It is for all of us and the club. I'm incredibly proud and my first thoughts are with the players who didn't play today.
"They all deserved to play, everyone has made a contribution and now it is time to enjoy it. We have to win the league and we have two or three weeks to prepare for the final.
