Ex-Man Utd and Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez ‘eyeing Premier League return’
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta previews the Wolves game
Alexis Sanchez is ‘keen’ on a return to the Premier League when he becomes a free agent this summer. The Chilean star has enjoyed one of his best seasons to date since his Arsenal days in Ligue 1 with Marseille.
During his first season in France, Sanchez has helped Marseille to third-place in Ligue 1 behind champions Paris Saint-Germain and surprise package Lens. He has scored 14 goals and assisted three times with one league match remaining.
However, unofrtunately his time with Marseille is coming to an end this season with his contract expiring, meaning a Premier League team can snap up the ex-Arsenal and Man Utd star for free.
And according to The Sun, while the option is there to stay at Marseille, Sanchez is interested in a sensational return to the Premier League and feelers have already been put out to sides. What teams opt to pursue a move remains to be seen, but it is unlikely the likes of Arsenal and Utd would go back in for the 34-year-old.

The former Barcelona star became a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium after moving from the Nou Camp. The tricky forward netted 80 times and provided 45 assists in 166 games for the Gunners between 2014 and 2018.
However, his hard work was undone in the eyes of the Arsenal faithful after moving to bitter English rivals Utd, where he endured a wretched spell. A return of five goals and nine assists in 45 games meant he never fully endeared himself to the Old Trafford crowd.
He was quickly shipped off to Inter Milan on loan in 2019 before a permanent deal was finalised before eventually he moved onto Marseille for a stint in France, where he has rekindled some of his best form.
Sanchez has previously revealed that he was set to join Man City from Arsenal but those plans didn’t materialise. In the past, he said: “Everything was ready, there was a player who was going to go to Arsenal.
“Then [Arsene] Wenger tells me you are not leaving because the other player did not want to come and they do not have another. Suddenly the cell phone rings. (Jose) Mourinho tells me: ‘Alexis, here is the seven [shirt] available for you.'”
Sanchez added: “That’s when I said to myself, Chilean footballer playing for Manchester United, something that has never happened.”
