Ex-Man City ace wants Russian passport and ‘feels great’ in Putin’s homeland
A former Manchester City prospect is ready to commit his future to Russia – having loved his first three months in Eastern Europe.
Benjamin Garre, who spent three years in the City academy between 2016 and 2019, left Buenos Aires outfit Racing Club in January to join Krylia Sovetov Samara in the Russian Premier League.
Having made six domestic appearances for the club following his controversial move, which came midway through their ongoing invasion of Ukraine (spearheaded by Vladimir Putin), the 22-year-old has no regrets.

Garre confirmed in an interview with Match TV, as reported by Russia Today: "I might spend many years in this country. I've only been here a month, but I'm already feeling great!
"I want to get a [Russian] passport, and I am ready to spend many years in Russia.
"We are still gathering all the necessary papers… That will take some time to fulfil all the [Russian] government requirements."

The former Argentina youth international failed to make the grade at the Etihad having starred in the UEFA Youth League and been invited on a pre-season tour in 2018.
His homeland return then last two years before a loan at Huracan, where he scored four league goals before a move to Russia worth around £1.5million.
Having signed a three and a half year contract at the time, Garre said: "Happy and excited to get to this great club! Grateful to all the people who made this possible."
Back in 2020, Garre revealed in a chat with TNT that Pep Guardiola called him to wish him luck when his time at City came to an end.
He said: "Guardiola called me when I arrived at Racing to wish me the best. I’ve learned a lot from Pep; he’s a top-class coach. I’m very grateful for everything he gave me."
