Ex-Liverpool keeper joins Glory
Former Liverpool and Socceroos goalkeeper Brad Jones has joined Perth Glory.
Jones, 39, has signed a two-year deal with his hometown club after spending the past three years in the Saudi Professional League with Al-Nassr.
“I grew up in Perth and was a Glory fan in the inaugural years of the club,” Jones said.
“The opportunity presented itself to come home and to play in front of my family is a huge pull.
“I think there’s a good young group at Perth who will have learned a lot from last season which will stand them in good stead for the coming years, and hopefully my experience will help with their development.
“I’m very ambitious and I want us to be at the top challenging.”
Jones, capped six times for the Socceroos, spent five seasons at Liverpool from 2010 to 2015, making 30 appearances in all competitions for the Reds.
Following his departures from Liverpool, Jones spent three years in the Netherlands, winning the Dutch top-flight title in 2017 with Feyenoord.

Glory coach Richard Garcia said Jones was a “fantastic person and exactly the kind of character that we want to bring into the environment here at the club”.
“His playing record and performances speak for themselves,” Garcia said of his former Socceroos teammate.
“He’s had a fantastic career overseas and is looking to come back and do even better for his hometown club where he will not only help grow the environment but help bring through the next generation.”
Glory chief executive Tony Pignata said Jones’s return to Australia was a boost for the club and the entire A-League.
“His signing is also another illustration of the club’s commitment to establishing a core of WA players within a strong and highly-competitive A-League squad,” Pignata said.
Jones’ arrival at the Glory will spell danger for Perth’s long-time first-choice custodian, 39-year-old Liam Reddy, who in June signed a new two-year deal with the club.
