Ex-Crystal Palace cheerleader dies aged just 37 as dancers pay emotional tribute
Former Crystal Palace cheerleader and original 'Crystal Girls' member Charlotte Duffy has died at the age of 37.
Palace's cheerleader troupe was formed in 2010 and is still active at fixtures and other live events today. The Premier League outfit's dancing group confirmed Duffy's passing on Sunday following a battle against cancer.
The Crystal Girls tweeted: "RIP Charlotte Duffy, one of the original Crystals who sadly lost her battle with cancer. She was beautiful inside and out and will be missed by us all! Sending our love to her family."

As well as being part of Palace's history through her dancing, Duffy worked as a model and helped choreograph performances on Sky Sports, ITV, BBC and shows like Soccer AM. News of her death sent ripples throughout the Crystal Palace community as fans and former colleagues posted tributes.
"Everyone at the club sends their deepest condolences to Charlotte's friends, family and loved ones," read a post from the club's official Twitter account.
Alan Smith – who managed Palace on two occasions – said Duffy had died "far too young" and called the news 'so sad'. "My heart and soul go out to Charlotte and her friends and family," he added. "Big part of [the] Palace family."
"Always 'Hollywood glam' whenever I saw her," recounted one respectful fan. "Beautiful young lady with great drive."
"Shocking news, sorry for your loss," wrote another, while supporters from other clubs also posted their respects on social media.
The Crystal Girls debuted in December 2010 and were considered an instant hit among many fans. However, the cheerleaders have also been dubbed outdated by some, along with ring girls in combat sports and grid girls in Formula 1.
As well as thriving as a dancer herself, Duffy found success in the field after creating 'Nu Wave Sports Dancers'. Described as 'the ultimate professional sports dance team', she helped organise and choregraph displays at Twickenham, Wembley, Alexandra Palace and other high-profile venues.
