Ex-Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly has claimed that Kylian Mbappe would make a good signing for the Blues’ Premier League rivals Liverpool.
Mbappe has been the subject of transfer speculation all summer after he was forced to train seperately from the PSG first team for refusing to sign a new contract.
He has since been been re-integrated into Luis Enrique’s squad after ‘constructive and positive’ talks between club and player.
But French World Cup winner Desailly still thinks Anfield could be the ideal new home for Mbappe.
He told BoyleSports: ‘They (Liverpool) did not replace [Sadio] Mane with someone who was going to be as good, someone who had his philosophy and impact.

‘I do believe Liverpool could suit Mbappe to fill that hole.
‘Liverpool are not at the end of a cycle, unlike Chelsea. The choice he has to make is not one or two years but four or five.
‘Liverpool have not sold most of their players, they have managed to keep a foundation at Anfield. They had a drop after many years of doing well, which was linked to selling Mane.’
Given Mbappe has scored a remarkable 164 goals in 217 Ligue 1 games across his time at PSG and Monaco, Premier League fans will surely be dreading the prospect of the forward lining up against them in the near future.
The 24-year-old has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but a potential loan move to Liverpool was rumoured when he was frozen out in Paris earlier this summer.
Mbappe returned to first team training with PSG after being left out of their opening game of the Ligue 1 season
PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been adamant that the forward would not be leaving on a free transfer in 12 months time after he refused to extend his contract beyond the summer of 2024.
Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal made a world record bid of £259million for the forward in July but Mbappe rejected the move.
After being left out of the Ligue 1 holders 0-0 draw against Lorient on the opening day of the season, he is now set to return to action in the French capital.
Liverpool appear to have prioritised midfield additions for the remainder of this transfer window, completing the signing of Stuttgart’s Wataru Endo after missing out on both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Chelsea.
