Ex-Arsenal Fan TV claims he made a 'mistake' following prison sentence

Ex-Arsenal Fan TV star Mr DT claims he made a ‘mistake’ and has ‘served his time’ after being trolled over his prison sentence for stalking and kidnapping ex-girlfriend following online abuse

  • Liam Goodenough became well known as Mr.DT for online rants about Arsenal
  • Goodenough was banned from the channel after receiving a prison sentence
  • The sentence followed a conviction for stalking and kidnapping an ex-partner

Former Arsenal Fan TV star Mr.DT claims he has ‘served his time’ for a ‘mistake’ after hitting out at online abuse following his prison sentence for stalking and kidnapping an ex-partner.

Mr.DT, whose real name is Liam Goodenough, was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment and a 10-year restraining order in November 2021 by Aylesbury Crown Court.

The sentence was increased to three years by the Court of Appeal last January, who found the original punishment to be ‘unduly lenient.’

MrDT. had become well known through his regular rants on AFTV about Arsenal.

The channel issued a statement following his conviction saying it was ‘utterly appalled and disgusted’ by his actions, before confirming he would no longer appear on the outlet.

Goodenough has hit out at online abuse he has received for his ‘mistake’ nearly two years ago

Goodenough was convicted of stalking and kidnapping an ex-partner back in November 2021

Goodenough has posted videos to his own YouTube channel, after being released from prison in September.

The vlogger, who has 258,000 subscribers and 214,000 Twitter followers, has now hit out at abusive comments he has received online.

He claimed the actions which led to the conviction were a ‘mistake’.

‘I made a mistake nearly 2 years ago. I’ve served my time and in a very good place,’ he wrote on Twitter.

‘My children and my family are my priority, and I could not be happier than I am right now. Throw all the abuse you want at me from behind a screen, it’s you who has a problem, not me.’

The former Solicitor General, Alex Chalk, said that ‘Goodenough subjected the victim to a shocking and frightening ordeal’ when welcoming the decision to increase his prison sentence last year.

‘Goodenough, 42, stalked his former partner as she went on a date, jealously sending the victim’s brother messages threatening suicide and demanding to know the location of the victim,’ the Attorney General’s Office said at the time.

‘Using a tracking feature on her phone, Goodenough drove to the hotel the victim was staying at and verbally abused her, as well as assaulting her companion. He then proceeded to photograph her in a state of undress.

AFTV banned Goodenough from appearing on their channel following his conviction

Goodenough said he would not address the incident on his return to YouTube in November

‘Goodenough dragged the victim out of the hotel room to his car, suggesting he had a knife and that her son was in the vehicle. However, when she realised that her son was not in the car she tried to escape. A bystander intervened and the victim was able to get out of the car, while Goodenough escaped.

‘Goodenough was convicted of stalking involving serious alarm or distress, and kidnapping.’

Goodenough had previously addressed his conviction on YouTube in a video published in November.

‘Now, I’m sure every single one of you will know what those issues are, and I’m sure every single one of you will know what’s been going on in my personal life for the last 15-16 months,’ he said.

‘Now, in terms of the incidents and what happened on that night, as to why I received my prison sentence, I will not be going and having a conversation about that on camera.

‘I will not be addressing it, I will not be speaking about it. There, of course, is a victim involved in all of this. It is my ex-partner, the mother to my children, and I simply will not be dragging all of this up again.

‘I won’t engage in any conversation about it on camera and I would like everybody to respect my wishes in that respect and understand that, like I said, there is a victim involved and I will not be talking about it. I’ve also got my children to think about as well and I simply will not be airing this on camera.

‘You all know the situation, you’ve all seen the media reports and I do not need to discuss it or go into it anymore. If you see me out in person or you want to have a conversation with me privately, then you’re more than welcome to. But on camera I will not be addressing this situation and I hope you can all respect that and the reasons behind it.’
