Everton midfielder Lewis Warrington is in talks to join Plymouth Argyle on loan.
The 20-year old, who spent last season on loan at Fleetwood Town, impressed for Everton’s first team during their 0-0 friendly draw at Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday evening.
However, Everton manager Sean Dyche believes it would be of greater benefit to Warrington’s development to spend another campaign away and playing regularly.
Plymouth are on a high after gaining promotion to the Championship and are managed by former Everton trainee Steven Schumacher.
They will give Warrington an ideal platform from which to build as he looks to make the next step up in his career.

Everton are also in talks with Oxford United where they plan to send Stanley Mills on loan.
The 19-year old, son of former Leeds and England full-back Danny, plays as a right winger or wing-back and made two first team appearances in league cup last season.
Further senior football experience followed at Fleetwood where the Toffees youth started 34 League One matches, missing only two matches over the course of the season.
His defensive prowess helped the Fishermen keep four consecutive clean sheets throughout February as the club eventually finished mid-table in the third tier.
Meanwhile, Everton are working to add a new striker to bolster Dyche’s options while Roma have also been linked to Dominic Calvert-Lewin but Mail Sport understands that any such move is unlikely.
