Everton star James Rodrigues admits he "doesn’t even know" who Toffees play next
Everton midfielder James Rodriguez has admitted that he does not know who the club are playing in the Premier League this weekend as he continues his isolation.
Rodriguez was forced into isolation prior to the Toffees' season opener against Southampton at Goodison Park, which they won 3-1, and will not return to training until this coming Monday.
The 30-year-old could be on his way out of the club before the end of the transfer window as he is reportedly not a part of new manager Rafael Benitez's plans for the season.
He was offered out to potential buyers back in June but has yet to secure a move away.
Rodriguez revealed on his Twitch stream on Thursday that he was unaware who Everton were playing this weekend after he told fans he will return to training on Monday.
"I will start training on Monday, I think. On the weekend I will not play, I don't even know who Everton is playing, can you please tell me?
"I think it is away because the past was at home. Ah, against Leeds they play, away from home, against Bielsa, a difficult game, let's see what happens, hopefully they win."
Rodriguez joined the club last summer from Real Madrid for £20million and enjoyed a good start to life on Merseyside as he scored six goals and provided nine assists in 26 appearances.
However, the departure of manager Carlo Ancelotti at the end of last season has left the Colombia international's future uncertain and he has been offered out to clubs, according to reports.
Former side Porto did have an interest in the player earlier in the summer but have yet to make an approach, with Rodriguez's reported £220,000-a-week wages proving an issue.
Rodriguez played for Porto for three seasons after arriving from Argentinian side Banfield in 2010, he left the club for £40million in 2013 to join Monaco.
It is understood that he is not a part of new manager Benitez's plans for this season and the club are keen to sell him to raise funds for new signings.
So far, the Toffees have only spent £1.7million with Benitez admitting that players must be sold before signings are made in order to keep in line with Financial Fair Play.
Rodriguez is hopeful that he can still have a good season, telling his stream that "I have faith that this season will be good for me, big things are coming for me.
"Between now and August 31, anything can happen, I don't know where I'll play, I'll be where things go well."
Earlier in the summer, he told his viewers that he would end up playing where he felt wanted as he said "You know that in football and in life you don't know anything, but all I know is that I've been training hard, preparing well, training for myself and that's it.
"It's complicated. [I will play] where I'm wanted. Someone has to be at a place they're wanted."
After returning to training on Monday, Rodriguez could make his first appearance under Benitez in the Carabao Cup next week as Everton face Huddersfield Town away on Tuesday night.
