Everton ‘ready three-year contract’ for Nuno Espirito Santo as talks progress
Less than a fortnight after stepping down as Wolves manager, Nuno Espirito Santo is reportedly in talks to take over at Everton following Carlo Ancelotti’s return to Real Madridearlier this week.
The Toffees are back in the hunt for a new coach after Ancelotti left on short notice, and Nuno is understood to be on the club’s four-man shortlist of potential replacements.
The 47-year-old is a free agent after leaving Molineux by mutual consent at the end of this past season, where Wolves finished a disappointing 13th in the Premier League.
Italian journalist Nicolo Schira alleged talks between Nuno and Everton are already advancing, with the Merseysiders said to be preparing a three-year contract:
A move to Goodison Park could present a potential upgrade for Nuno after Everton ended last season three places and 14 points above Wolves.
His former employers are expected to announce former Benfica boss Bruno Lage as their new manager, keeping alive the Portuguese connection at Molineux.
Goodison Park isn’t the only possible English destination for Nuno, who has also been linked with the vacancies at Tottenham and Crystal Palace so far this summer.

Spurs appointed Ryan Mason on an interim basis after sacking Jose Mourinho in April, while Palace are searching for a successor to Roy Hodgson following his four-year stay at Selhurst Park.
Everton are considering their options following Ancelotti's exit, and former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is another big name reportedly in contention to take over the Toffees.
While Nuno’s four seasons at Wolves ended on a negative note, Sky Sports reported Everton’s majority owner, Farhad Moshiri, was impressed by his work at the club and considers him an ‘excellent fit.’
Wolves won the Championship in his first year in England before clinching back-to-back seventh-place finishes in the Premier League.
