Everton make enquiry for Lorient winger Dango Ouattara amid interest from Leicester – as Frank Lampard seeks reinforcements this month with relegation battle looming

  • Everton are exploring deal for the Lorient winger as they seek to improve squad
  • Leicester City – also struggling in the Premier League – are also interested

Everton have made an enquiry for Lorient winger Dango Ouattara, 20, who has also attracted attention from Leicester City.

The Toffees find themselves lodged in the mire, with only one win in their previous 10 Premier League games and in the bottom three having experienced a sharp slide down the table.

With pressure growing on Frank Lampard and finances tight at the club, it is thought that they will have to be imaginative to try and improve their squad to ensure their Premier League status for next season.

Winger Ouattara, a Burkina Faso international, has impressed for Lorient this season, notching five goals and five assists with the club currently sitting sixth in Ligue 1, three points outside the top four places.

Everton are being rivalled by fellow Premier League strugglers Leicester, however, who are also looking to add to their squad to try and avoid a relegation dog-fight this season.

Botb Brendan Rodgers and Lampard find themselves under increasing pressure, with the latter the current market favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave their post.

Meanwhile, striker Nathan Broadhead is close to joining Ipswich Town on a permanent deal after a medical at the weekend.

He was recalled from his loan with Wigan Athletic to head to East Anglia to complete his permanent move to Kieran McKenna’s high-flying League One side.
