Everton keen on loan swoop for Bayern Munich’s young striker Joshua Zirkzee after his switch to Eintracht Frankfurt fell through… with Dutch striker facing a three-game ban in Germany for kicking rival goalkeeper in the FACE in reserve game

Everton are exploring a loan deal for Bayern Munich’s fiery young striker Joshua Zirkzee.

The 6ft 4ins Dutch forward is facing a three game suspension in Germany after kicking 1860 Munich keeper Marco Hiller in the face while playing for Bayern’s reserves.

Zirkzee had dropped down to the reserves after being out injured and Bayern were willing to let him go out on loan.

He is currently facing a three-game ban in Germany for kicking a rival goalkeeper in the face

He was due to join Eintracht Frankfurt on a temporary deal but they signed Luka Jovic from Real Madrid this week. Cologne have also enquired.

However, Everton are now discussing a transfer that could even be made permanent if the 19-year old impresses.

Everton sporting director Marcel Brands said on Thursday night that it was unlikely Everton would make January signings but with Dominic Calvert Lewin and Richarlison struggling with niggling injuries and Moise Kean and Theo Walcott out on loan, Carlo Ancelotti wants back up for his strikers.

Zirkzee is well-known to Brands. He was at Ado Den Haag and Feyenoord prior to joining Bayern in 2018.

The Holland U21 international played against Tottenham in the Champions League last year and has scored four goals for the first team.
