Frank Lampard is eager to bolster his attacking options especially with Dominic Calvert-Lewin set to miss the first month of the season.
According to The Athletic, Southampton’s public stance is that they don’t intend to sell Adams, although privately they are willing to sanction his sale.

With Salomon Rondon serving a one-game suspension, Everton were without a recognised centre-forward for their opening weekend defeat to Chelsea, with winger Anthony Gordon deployed up front.
The departure of Richarlison to Tottenham has significantly weakened Everton’s attacking threat and Lampard is seeking reinforcements in that department.

Adams has scored 26 goals in 90 Premier League appearances for Southampton since joining the club in 2019. He was an unused substitute against Tottenham last weekend.
Nottingham Forest were previously linked with Adams but their interest in the 26-year-old has cooled in recent weeks.
Everton have also been linked with other attackers, including Coventry’s Viktor Gykoeres and Strasbourg’s Ludovic Ajorque.
So far in this transfer window Everton have signed James Tarkowski, Dwight McNeil and Amadou Onana permanently, while Conor Coady has joined on loan from Wolves.
