Everton have announced that Duncan Ferguson will take charge of their forthcoming games, having been appointed as caretaker manager again.
It will be the Scot's second tenure as interim manager, while his first game back in charge will be against Aston Villa on Saturday.
The club said in a statement: “The Blues legend took charge of training at USM Finch Farm on Tuesday morning as the squad began its preparations for the visit of Aston Villa to Goodison Park on Saturday."
The Toffees said that there will be an announcement on who will be taking over on a permanent basis “in due course”.
Everton sacked manager Rafa Benitez on Sunday after the club's 2-1 loss to Norwich.
The Spaniard had just six-and-a-half months in charge and was dismissed after winning just once in the Premier League since September.
Now former striker Ferguson will take charge in the dugout once more.
The 46-year-old got his first stint as manager when Marco Silva was sacked in 2018. In the three games he had in the dugout, he revived the club, presiding over a 3-1 win over Chelsea, a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford, and a 0-0 draw against Arsenal.
Ferguson has already stated that he is more than happy to take on the role permanently – but Farhad Moshiri has already been sounding out prospective appointments.

Roberto Martinez, the Belgium head coach who had been sacked by Moshiri in 2016, was under consideration, according to Sportsmail.
The Spaniard is hoping to make a return to the Premier League and would relish the opportunity to go back to Merseyside.
It's thought that he would like Thierry Henry alongside as his assistant.
However, Everton have not been able to reach an agreement for Martinez, while other links have been growing stronger.
Derb County boss Wayne Rooney of course has an affinity and former Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac has also been suggested.
Former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is another name that's been suggested.
The Merseyside club sit 15th in the table and are just six points above the relegation zone.
