The draw for the Euro 2024 qualifying competition will take place in Frankfurt from 11am today as England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland wait to discover the teams that will stand between them and a place in the finals. A total of 53 countries in Europe will be drawn into 10 groups, with Germany already qualifying as hosts and Russia banned over their military involvement in Ukraine.
Scotland are one of 12 teams to have been guaranteed at least a play-off place through the Nations League, which also decides the seeding for the Euro 2024 qualifiers. For this reason, England have been placed into pot two alongside Steve Clarke’s side and Wales, with Northern Ireland in pot six.
The draw will result in seven groups of five teams and three groups of six teams, with the Nations League finalists – Italy, Spain, Croatia and the Netherlands – set to go into the smaller groups. At the end of the qualifying competition, the top two sides in each group will advance to the Euro 2024 finals in Germany, while the remaining three teams will be decided through the Nations League play-offs.
