Erling Haaland once admitted he wants to win the Premier League with Leeds
Erling Haaland has already revealed the English team he could join – and it's not one of the Premier League's so-called 'big six.'
Haaland, 21, has 17 goals in 12 games this season for Borussia Dortmund and has no shortage of potential suitors from across Europe.
The likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Real Madrid have all be linked with a move for the Norwegian, who reportedly has a £65million release clause in his contract that becomes active next summer.
His agent Mino Raiola has 'clear ideas' about the star's future, but Haaland might see things a little bit different.
Back in 2017, when he was a teenager at Molde, Haaland revealed that he wanted to move to the Premier League and win the title, not with one of the big boys, but with Leeds United.
He told Afternposten: "I want to be the best I can be.
"The dream is to win the Premier League with Leeds.
"In addition, the goal is to become a better player than Dad was. I hope to be able to get more international matches than he did."
Haaland's Elland Road ambition stems from his birth.
The star was born in Leeds and on a number of occasions has been snapped wearing merchandise of the club his Dad Alf-Inge used to play for.
Should Erling Haaland move to the Premier League? Let us know in the comments section.
However, a lot has changed since Haaland made this comments in 2017, and now only the richest clubs in the world are able to afford a player who is one of the hottest properties in the world football.
It's a fact not lost on Raiola, the star's infamous agent.
The Portuguese has put Haaland's suitors on notice by revealing there is a 'big chance' the in-demand forward will leave Dortmund in the summer of 2022.
"He can and will take the next step," Raiola told the German TV channel Sport1. “Bayern, Real, Barcelona, City – these are the big clubs he can go to.
"City have won the championship five times in recent years, significantly more than United. When we moved to Dortmund, we all knew that this step would come."
Asked how soon a move could happen, Raiola replied: "Maybe this summer, maybe the summer after. But there is a great chance that Erling will leave this summer."
He continued: "We will tell BVB [Dortmund] what our idea is and BVB will tell us their ideas. But no decision will be made in the winter.
"He is someone who wants to develop, who is looking for new challenges. And of course it’s also a question of the alternative. You only change if you have a better alternative."
