Erling Haaland new ‘Goldilocks’ look has fans divided over Man City goal machine

Erling Haaland has divided fans with his new hair-do ahead of Manchester City's Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

The goal machine, who registered his 29th and 30th Premier League goals for the season in a 4-1 win away at Southampton on Saturday (April 8), debuted an eye-catching look in training on Monday (April 10).

Rather than the usual ponytail, Haaland put his blond locks into pigtails to keep his hair out of his eyes. They earned him brutal comparisons to fairy tale character Goldilocks and environmental activist Greta Thunberg, who is two years younger than him aged 20.

One footy fan tweeted: "Looks like he’s about to try all the porridge, chairs and beds at the Bears’ house." A second wrote: "Greta got really tall didn't she?"

"Bro rocking that nine-year-old girl default cut," commented a third, while a fourth similarly posted: "No way a guy with that lid is top scorer in the Prem. Man's looking like a Year 8 girl."

Others were quite fond of the fresh style, though. One argued: "Looks like a Viking." Another echoed: "Viking mode fully activated."

"Tapping into his Viking ancestry to take on Bayern," added a third. A fourth asked: "Am I the only one who thinks he rocks this nine-year-old girl haircut? Looks dope on him bruh."

And a fifth joked: "That’s the new iOS 17 update on the robot."

Haaland and City welcome Bayern to the Etihad for the first leg of their quarter-final tomorrow. The former Borussia Dortmund striker has tasted defeat in all seven of his previous clashes with the Bundesliga giants.

But he has scored five goals against them, and Pep Guardiola is hoping he can be the man to take City to the elusive Champions League trophy.

"Erling is so important for us," said Guardiola. "I cannot deny the goals and the influence. He came to help us to be here in the Champions League, but at the same time to help us in the Premier League and FA Cup."
