Erling Haaland has given Man City a huge boost by returning to training after missing their clash with Liverpool due to a groin injury.
Pep Guardiola’s side didn’t miss their top scorer as they battered their rivals Liverpool 4-1 in one of their best performances of the season.
However, they are keen to get the Norwegian back into the team fit and firing, ahead of a busy schedule in both the Premier League and Champions League.
City still have sights set on an unprecedented treble, something Haaland – who has scored 42 goals in 37 games across all competitions this season – would play a huge part in achieving.
Man City fans will be delighted to see the club’s social media post on Wednesday afternoon, which showed a smiling Haaland back in training ahead of this weekend’s clash with Southampton.

The news provides Pep Guardiola’s side a boost ahead of a busy week in which they play Southampton and Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final
It remains to be seen whether Guardiola will decide to rush Haaland back into action for their trip to St Mary’s on Saturday afternoon.
Julian Alvarez has proven himself to be a more than adequate replacement for Haaland this season when called upon, while Guardiola might also have eyes on City’s first leg of their Champions League quarter-final with Bayern Munich next week.
Haaland was in stunning form before the recent international break, scoring five goals in a Champions League victory over RB Leipzig, followed by hat-trick in a FA Cup victory over Burnley.
However, the groin injury kept him out of both of Norway’s Euro 2024 qualifiers at the end of last month.
Haaland did some rehabilitation work in Barcelona before returning to the North West last week where he was doing some individual work with the hope of returning for the game against Liverpool.

Guardiola said it would be a last-minute decision over whether Haaland features in the game, but the Norwegian striker was instead seen celebrating City’s goals from the stands.
Speaking after their win over Liverpool, Guardiola revealed: ‘Erling is getting better. ‘On Friday he felt a little bit better compared to the previous two days.
‘It’s five days to Southampton, so hopefully can still help us like he has all season.’
