Erling Haaland ban proposed for Man City FA Cup final clash with Man Utd
Haaland cooks up a storm at MNKY HSE
Manchester United fans are calling on Erling Haaland to be banned for next month’s FA Cup final after the Manchester City striker swore live on Sky Sports. The Norway international dropped the f-bomb while telling Jack Grealish how much he loves him. And with Wayne Rooney previously being suspended for swearing into a camera, it appears the FA have invited this issue on themselves.
Haaland approached Grealish while his team-mate was speaking on Sky Sports and said: “I f****** love you.”
But fans on Twitter want the forward banned, with many using Rooney’s suspension back in 2011 as a reference.
The England international received a ban from the FA Cup after swearing into a camera following a stirring 4-2 victory over West Ham.
He then missed a FA Cup semi-final showdown with City as a result, with the Red Devils losing 1-0 following a goal from Yaya Toure.
“So Haaland swears on live tv for no valid reason but the Fa won’t do anything about it,” said @truereddevil99. “Rooney swore back in 2011 after scoring a crucial goal in the title race and was banned missing the fa cup semi final against City. Haaland here should be banned for 3 games. @FootballAssoc.”

@P4ul785 said: “I recall Rooney missing a FA Cup semi final doing the same thing.
“Shouldn’t be any different. Ban is the only correct action here but of course the FA s***houses won’t do a thing.”
“So they will ban Haaland the same way they banned Rooney for two games after saying f****** what? To the camera after scoring vs West Ham. Thought not,” ranted @PhilHowarth.
“Wayne Rooney got 3 match ban in 2011 for swearing on live TV, this saw Rooney miss the FA cup semi final against Man City which we lost 1-0, if same rules apply then surely Haaland should be banned for the FA cup final,” were the words of @JackMcCarthy_7.
“Haaland swearing on the tele, ban him for the cup final immediately,” stated @TylerMUFC99.

And @Ky4ster said: “Double standards it’s ok when haaland does it but when rooney the goat of all goats does it he gets a 2 game ban and misses a semi final.”
Right now, the FA don’t seem to have any plans to take action against Haaland.
And whether their stance changes, as fans continue to make their feelings known, remains to be seen.
As for Rooney, the United legend accepted his punishment in 2011 and admitted he was remorseful for his actions.
“I didn’t realise what I’d done,” he said at the time.
“It was just emotions. It was a release of scoring the three goals to get us back in the game.
“As soon as I realised after the game I apologised as soon as I could.
“Of course it was wrong of me to do but I accept my punishment and you just have to move on. Hopefully the boys can pull through for me on Saturday and hopefully get to that FA Cup final.”
There were even suggestions that Coca-Cola split with Rooney as a result of his swearing. He denied this, adding: “It makes me laugh.
“I spoke with Coke towards the end of last season about signing a new deal and with the Olympics coming up they wanted a bit more of my time to do more commercial appearances. I just didn’t have the time to do it.
“This all happened at the end of last season so I haven’t been with Coca-Cola since 2010 but it’s only just come out now.
“It makes me laugh when people say I have been dropped by them.”
City and United have met twice already this season.
Pep Guardiola’s side won 6-3 at the Etihad Stadium, though the Red Devils got revenge at Old Trafford with a 2-1 victory in front of their own supporters.
