Erik ten Hag ‘has £170m strike-force dream’ but PSG seek to ruin plans
Ten Hag wants no easing up from Man Utd before end of season
Erik ten Hag has pinpointed his dream strike-force ahead of his second season as Manchester United manager. But it could depend on Marcus Rashford’s future at Old Trafford as PSG circle in anticipation of his 2024 contract expiry.
It’s currently one of the worst-kept secrets in football. Ten Hag is desperate to add an established striker to his squad this summer.
And if reports are to be believed, Harry Kane remains his top priority as he nears the final 12 months of his Tottenham Hotspur deal.
According to The Telegraph, Kane would likely set United back around £100million, despite being 29 and in a precarious contract situation.
But the Red Devils continue to explore the possibility of completing a deal for Kane, which would reunite him with England team-mate Rashford.
The 25-year-old, valued at £70m on transfermarkt, could play the Son Heung-min role in a partnership with so much potential that it’s no surprise Ten Hag considers it a dream.

The report claims that United are making positive progress in tying Rashford down to a new contract at Old Trafford.
His stock has skyrocketed this season, netting 29 goals under Ten Hag as part of a career-best campaign.
He added three goals to that total for England at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and discussions over committing his future to United are said to be headed in the right direction.
However, PSG are credited as one of several clubs monitoring Rashford’s situation as they eye a potential free transfer at the end of next season.

Ten Hag unsurprisingly considers his No 10 integral to his future plans in M16, though, and wants Kane to partner him next term.
United have confirmed new deals for Luke Shaw and Alejandro Garnacho in recent months.
And the club are also in talks with Diogo Dalot and David de Gea over extensions, with the latter out of contract in July.
Fred joins Rashford and Dalot in the 2024 expiries, but his future is uncertain after growing out of favour with Ten Hag.
