The level of accommodation offered on the water has been deemed much more suitable — and comes with the added bonus that those involved will be able to toast victory, or drown their sorrows, after watching Gareth Southgate’s men in action.
Alcohol cannot be consumed in public spaces in Qatar and is only available in the privacy of selected hotels in the majority Muslim and conservative country.
However, a number of cruise ships and yachts will be moored in the port close to Doha, where families can relax and enjoy a drink if they wish.

Gareth Southgate wanted a relaxed beach base, as was the case at the 2018 World Cup
As Sportsmail revealed, England’s players are set to stay at the five-star Souq Al Wakra beach resort, built in 2015 specifically for the World Cup.
The plush complex, 10 miles south of Doha, is dry. Southgate wanted a relaxed beach base, as was the case at the 2018 World Cup when England stayed in Repino, near Saint Petersburg.
It is unlikely that the boat will see a repeat of 2006, when the high-profile partners of players ran amok in Baden-Baden under Sven Goran Eriksson.
