England will face old rivals Germany in their Euro 2020 round-of-16 match at Wembley after a thrilling last day of group-stage action.
The 2014 World Cup champions needed a late goal from Leon Goretzka to secure a 2-2 draw against a spirited Hungary side.
With France and Portugal seeing out the same result, it meant Die Mannschaft came out on top in the head-to-head with the Euro holders due to their 4-2 win in the last round.
The Three Lions finished top of Group D thanks to wins against Croatia and Czech Republic as well as a draw against Scotland.
It meant all eyes were on Budapest and Munich as Euro 2016 winners Portugal took on 2018 World Cup champions France.
While Hungary, bottom of the group with one point from their two games, aimed to pull off an upset against powerhouse side Germany.
Germany were going out after Adam Szalai opened the scoring after 11 minutes.
Kai Havertz's header drew them level in the second half before Andras Schafer responded at the restart.
But Goretzka's drive with six minutes left secured the point – and second place in Group F to take on England at Wembley.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored a record-breaking penalty half an hour into Portugal's clash with France in Budapest to put them temporarily top of the table.
Karim Benzema slotted his own before half-time, though – and a controversial VAR review saw him provide the lead two minutes after the restart.
But a third penalty of the evening was awarded on the hour to Portugal, with CR7 equalling the all-time international top-scoring record to secure a 2-2 draw.
France's finish at the top of Group F will see them take on Group A's third-placed team Switzerland.
Portugal's four-point finish saw them through comfortably along with the Czech Republic, while Ukraine's -1 goal difference sneaked them into the knockout stages.

England's round-of-16 meeting with Germany will be their first against Die Mannschaft since a friendly 0-0 draw from November 2017.
The last competitive fixture, though, saw them lost 4-1 in the 2010 World Cup round-of-16 in a game where Frank Lampard had a goal disallowed – despite the ball crossing the line.
