England fans call Three Lions ‘boring’ despite Southgate’s side thrashing Malta
England ran out comfortable 4-0 winners against Malta on Friday night in a game that saw Gareth Southgate's side control proceedings from the off.
The Three Lions did the majority of the damage in the first half, with goals from Harry Kane and Trent Alexander-Arnold and an own goal, setting England on their way to three points.
While the game slowed down in the second half, a late Callum Wilson penalty put the finishing touches on the routine win. England now have one last game before the season finally ends, with Southgate and co set to take on North Macedonia at home on Monday.
But, judging by the reaction from some football fans on social media, you wouldn't have thought they were happy about England's comfortable win.

True, there was an intensity lacking from the game, especially in the second half. And yes, the quality England have at their disposal in comparison to Malta should see them blow their opponents out of the water.
However, that did not stop a handful of England fans from voicing their discontent at the performance of the Three Lions, with some taking to social media to vent their frustrations.

One fan wrote: "England game is boring man." Another added: "England are so boring to watch man Southgate is rubbed."
A third commented: "Watched the Ashes and was impressed with England playing attacking cricket with flair… Watching the Football.. it's the polar opposite. So boring to watch.. I'm not a Southgate fan tbh."
A fourth said: "Mad how no one is a**ed. England in the groups is just boring for everyone."
One individual who didn't agree with the social media assessment was Andros Townsend, who was on co-comms duty for Channel 4's coverage of the game.
"There's no such thing as a meaningless international, especially for the fringe players," said Townsend.
