Emmanuel Petit names three Premier League stars Arsenal should sign
Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has urged his former club to sign Ollie Watkins this summer. The ex-France midfielder has also again reiterated his opinion that the Gunners should sign Brighton duo Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is likely to strengthen his squad further this summer. The north Londoners are set to embark on Champions League football for the first time since the 2016/17 season.
Arteta added three players to his squad in January, bringing in Leandro Trossard, Jorginho and Jakub Kiwior. But he could lose a number who have seen their game time restricted this summer.
Petit has spoken on a number of occasions before about his belief that Caicedo and Mac Allister would be wise additions for his old club. Arsenal failed with a couple of bids to sign Caicedo in January and the Ecuador star has since signed a new contract.

But he now reckons Arteta can strengthen up top with the signing of Watkins. The Aston Villa striker has 11 goals in the Premier League this season, including eight in his last 10 appearances.
Petit told Stadium Astro: “The Aston Villa striker, Watkins. I think he has a margin to improve more at the highest level.
“This is my question, actually, if he can perform at the highest level. But in terms of quality, I think he has improved a lot for the last two years.
“If he keeps on doing what he’s doing, he’s scoring goals almost every game, he’s in really good form. I think some top clubs will have their eyes on him.”

Petit again stated his view that Arsenal should raid Brighton for their two star midfielders. Mac Allister has enjoyed a fine goalscoring season for Brighton, having netted 10 times in all competitions either side of winning the World Cup with Argentina in December.
Caicedo has started 26 of Brighton’s league matches this term and has caught the eye of a number of England’s top sides. Petit added: “Just like some players at Brighton, Caicedo, I’m a big fan.
“For the last two years, I’ve been saying that for Arsenal that they should take him, Mac Allister as well, the duo in the midfield. I think they would fit perfectly with Arsenal.”
