Emmanuel Adebayor claims Harry Kane will win Ballon d’Or if he leaves Tottenham
Harry Kane would have a strong chance of winning the Ballon d’Or if he leaves Tottenham for Bayern Munich. That is the verdict of former Spurs striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who has urged his old team-mate to make the move to Germany.
Bayern saw their latest offer for Kane rejected on Monday. Tottenham want over £100million for the England captain but the Bundesliga club’s proposal was just £86m.
Kane is in the final year of his contract but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is not prepared to give in easily. The 30-year-old forward wants his future wrapped up by the start of the Premier League campaign this weekend.
Bayern are set to return with a fourth offer in an attempt to lure Kane away from north London. The Times says that the bid is set to be around £94.5m.

Adebayor played in the same side as Kane at Tottenham and was ultimately replaced by the Englishman before leaving in 2015. He believes Kane will have regrets if he does not end up making a move this summer.
Kane scored 30 Premier League goals in an under-performing Spurs side last season. Adebayor firmly believes if he can repeat that goalscoring prowess with Bayern and win major honours, he will win the Ballon d’Or.
He told Sky Sports News: “Harry Kane has done it, he has scored so many goals, I’ve watched him grow. So yeah, to be honest with you, Tottenham is a great club but I think it is a good time for him to leave.
“In the national team, he’s top there, he’s been the captain for the England national team for the last three, four, five years. So I think yeah, you need a challenge.

Tottenham’s new all-white kit doesn’t deviate from the traditional Spurs style. The fresh look for the 2023/2024 season features navy cuffs and a pattern that runs throughout the kit that is said to be inspired by the music scene and eclectic streetwear of the Tottenham
“Remember, it’s someone who is scoring 30-40 goals for the last four or five years in a row [but] he’s not winning anything. That is very bad and I think he will have a regret knowing that he has everything in his possibility to win everything, to win Ballon d’Or.
“If Harry goes to another club, scoring 35 or 40 goals and winning the Bundesliga with Bayern, winning the Champions League, he’s the Ballon d’Or, he’s the best player in the world. No doubt about that.”
Tottenham begin their Premier League campaign away to Brentford on Sunday. It remains to be seen if Kane will still be at the club to play in the match.
