Emiliano Martinez taunts Man Utd fans after Bruno Fernandes' penalty miss

Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez taunted Manchester United’s supporters immediately after Bruno Fernandes missed his penalty in the 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have lost for the first time in the Premier League this season as Kortney Hause’s late header sealed the win for Villa.

United had the opportunity to rescue a point in injury time after they were awarded a penalty and interestingly Fernandes stepped up to take the spot kick ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo.

But the Portuguese midfielder blazed his effort high over the bar and the final whistle was blown just a few minutes later.

Martinez, who went viral for trash talking Yerry Mina during Argentina’s Copa America semi-final shootout against Colombia, was at it again on Saturday as he goaded Ronaldo shortly before Fernandes took his penalty.

And after Fernandes missed his shot, the Villa goalkeeper turned to United’s supporters in the Stretford End and performed a celebratory dance.

Speaking after the match, Solskjaer criticised Martinez and Villa’s players for harassing Fernandes in the build up to the penalty.

‘First of all the way they get round the penalty spot, get round Bruno and that, that’s not to my liking,’ said Solskjaer.

‘Bruno is usually very good in those positions and unfortunately he missed this one.

‘It doesn’t get in Bruno’s head. He’s strong mentally and he’ll step forward again. The decision is made before the game.’
