Martinez got a tattoo of the iconic trophy on his left leg – which he used to stop Randal Kolo Muani’s 126th minute effort in the World Cup final.
The tattoo also featured the phrase ‘May passion lead you to glory.’ But, fans were struggling to understand why ‘6.8.12.18’ was written at the bottom.

Rulli has said that Martinez included the numbers as a part of a promise that the two of them made together with German Pezzella, Marcos Acuna and Guido Rodriguez.
Pezzella wore the No.6 shirt at the 2022 World Cup, while Acuna wore No.8 and Rodriguez wore No.18.
Speaking to Clarin, Rulli said: ‘We promised Huevo, German, me, Dibu and Guido to tattoo the cup of the world with our numbers. From the mate band’.

Earlier this week Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira slammed Martinez for his jubilant celebrations following Argentina’s triumph on spot kicks.
‘When you are talking about the abuse and the comments that he received after the World Cup, I think that is damaging the game and himself,’ the former Arsenal star explained.
‘Some of the pictures that I saw from the Argentina goalkeeper took away a little bit from what Argentina achieved at the World Cup. I don’t think that they really needed that.
‘You can’t control sometimes people’s emotions or decisions, but that was a stupid decision from Martinez to do that.’
