Elon Musk spotted at World Cup final as fans beg him to buy Man Utd

Manchester United fans have begged Elon Musk to purchase the Red Devils after he was spotted at the World Cup final.

Musk has already teased purchasing the club; in August, he tweeted: "Also, I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome!" However, he then added: "No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams!"

But that little joke hasn't stopped United fans from asking Musk to buy the club – and they've been at it again after he was snapped at the Lusail Stadium, following the news the Glazer family could be open to selling the club.

While a fourth said: "Brother, if you like football, please buy Manchester United and save us from the Glazers @elonmusk!"

On the eve of the World Cup, the Glazers released a statement that confirmed: "the Board will consider all strategic alternatives, including new investment into the club, a sale, or other transactions involving the Company."

The American owners took over United in 2005, and while there was early success, the Red Devils will have gone ten years without a Premier League trophy in May.
