Edu provides Arsenal transfer update and says his phone is ringing off the hook
Arsenal technical director Edu has provided a brief transfer update in which he indicated the Gunners could cut Lucas Torreira's loan deal short.
Torreira joined Atletico Madrid on loan in the summer as Thomas Partey went the other way.
But the Uruguay international has struggled to tie down a permanent place in Diego Simeone's side, who are top of La Liga, and there are claims that Torreira is unhappy.
Arsenal are now considering cutting the loan deal short to allow Torreira to secure a transfer to another club.
Valencia are among the clubs keen on snapping up the 24-year-old, but by Edu's own admission his phone is ringing off the hook with suitors ready to snap up Torreira.

"The situation is very simple. Arsenal are concerned about Torreira, his happiness, that he plays and that he is well," Edu told AS.
"We want to know about him how he feels and, later, of course, know what Atletico thinks. For us, Lucas and his happiness is what's more important.
"If everyone is happy, we will continue like this, if Lucas is not well, we will look for a change because there are many teams that are calling me to ask about the player's situation."
Arsenal signed Torreira from Sampdoria for £26million in 2018, and for a while the midfielder was one of the first names on Unai Emery's teamsheet.
But Torreira found himself falling down the pecking order when Mikel Arteta took over in north London, and opted to leave Arsenal on loan at the start of the season.
