Ecstatic Dean Henderson dives into crowd to celebrate after heroics vs Liverpool

Dean Henderson leapt into the crowd after inspiring Nottingham Forest to a 1-0 win over Liverpool in the Premier League.

The goalkeeper made a remarkable seven saves as Liverpool threw all they had in the hope of cancelling out Forest’s slender lead, which came after Taiwo Awoniyi scored ten minutes into the second half. Henderson capped off a world class performance with a sensational stop as he denied Virgil van Dijk’s stoppage time header with a strong left hand.

Forest were crucially able to secure all three points, and an overjoyed Henderson decided to join fans in the City Ground stands for the celebrations.

Wild scenes emerged at full time as the cameras panned to the passionate 25-year-old. The Englishman pumped his fists as the Forest faithful embraced and cheered him, before the stewards eventually pulled him out.

His passion was appreciated by fans on social media, with one Twitter user writing: “Nothing but time for that. Henderson was class all game!”

Another commented: “Not a supporter of either team, but this why I love football/sport, the PASSION!!!”

Henderson was clearly overcome by emotion at both his display and the victory as BT Sport cameras also caught him appearing to give Liverpool fans the middle finger after the full time whistle.

The former Manchester United goalkeeper pointed and smiled at the away end before lifting his hand and raising what looked to be his middle finger at the travelling Reds supporters.

His spectacular efforts in goal helped Steve Cooper’s side claim just their second league win of the campaign. They were able to move up to 19th from bottom place, albeit temporarily with Leicester set to face Wolves on Sunday.
