Chelsea star Mykhaylo Mudryk has been accused of wiping his nose on Kyle Walker during his side’s clash with Manchester City over the weekend. The pair provided a sensational battle for the neutrals out on the wing during the latter stages of the match, though some eyes were drawn to their interaction when the ball was actually out of play.
The Blues played out a sensational 4-4 draw with City on Sunday, with Cole Palmer scoring a 95th-minute penalty to ensure that the spoils were shared. The England Under-21 international, recently rewarded for his good form with a first-team call-up, was sensational down the right for Chelsea and showcased why City were reluctant to part ways with him over the summer.
Mudryk also emerged with credit at Stamford Bridge after being brought on as a second-half substitute, replacing midfielder Enzo Fernandez. The Ukraine international performed well up against City captain Walker, with the pair both leaning on their blistering pace to deal with one another.
The healthy competition between the duo earned plenty of praise, though Mudryk has since been thrust into the limelight after footage emerged appearing to show him wiping his snot on Walker in the heart of a last-minute scuffle. After referee Anthony Taylor awarded a penalty in extra time following a foul made by Ruben Dias, the two teams clashed in the City penalty area.

Pep Guardiola’s side were desperate to plead their centre-back’s innocence, whereas Chelsea stars intervened in the protests and tried to avoid Palmer from becoming distracted ahead of his penalty. In the middle of the scuffle, Mudryk began walking towards Phil Foden to exchange words with the England international – who appeared distraught with the decision.
En route, the winger raised his hand to his nose and then ran his hand along the chest of Walker, who was distracted by trying to appeal against Taylor’s call whilst also seeking to ensure that tempers did not boil over to the extent that some of his City team-mates receive cheap bookings.

Eagle-eyed viewers spotted the potentially bizarre moment, though it is unclear as to whether Mudryk did definitely wipe his snot on the City star at a time when the majority of footballers raise their hands to their faces to shield their words from fans at home.
Chelsea now head into the international break with a spring in their step, with their point at home to City the least that they deserved in an enthralling clash. Mauricio Pochettino’s side remain 10th in the table, though there is plenty of improvement to come from his team.
