Former Tottenham Hotspur star Teddy Sheringham has cast doubt on Harry Kane’s future at the club, despite Fabio Paratici stating he wants to keep the striker. Paratici was recently appointed as managing director of football at Spurs, with his eyes finally on transfer business after bringing in Nuno Espirito Santo as Jose Mourinho’s replacement.
High up the Italian’s agenda for the summer is attempting to keep hold of star striker Kane, who has made it clear he wants to leave the club.
The Englishman produced yet another stunning individual season, winning the Premier League’s golden boot and providing the most assists in the top-flight.
But Kane’s individual talent has not been matched by his club’s, with Spurs enduing a disappointing campaign which would cost Mourinho is job.
Under caretaker Ryan Mason, Tottenham were able to secure a seventh-placed finish, but are still yet to win a trophy with Kane in the team.
Kane has grown impatient with that lack of trophies and as he approaches the peak of his career, he wants to make a change this summer.

But with three years left on his current contract, it will take a sizeable bid to convince Spurs to sell their prize asset.
Paratici has made his feelings clear about Kane’s situation and insisted he wants to keep the striker at the club.
“Keeping him is not just my goal, it’s our goal as a club. I can’t wait to watch him play live,” Paratici told Sky Italia.
“Right now, he’s one of the best strikers in the world. He’s a complete player, really special. His physique is that of a real No 9, a true poacher, but he also has an incredibly refined technique.

“He is able to shoot with both feet and also provides many assists – very few people notice this, because he scores so many goals.
“He’s a team player, but he’s a finisher at the same time, so I believe he is among the top three in the world.”
Despite Paratici stating his intention to keep Kane at Spurs, former striker Sheringham does not believe the 27-year-old will be playing for the club next season.
Instead, Sheringham believes that the England captain will end up at reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.
“I think he’s made his decision. I think he’s told Tottenham what he wants to do,” Sheringham told talkSPORT.
“I’ve heard the new director of sport coming in saying that he can’t wait to work with Harry, I’m not so sure that’s going to be the case.
“You don’t know for definite, but I think he’s made his decision and pretty much he’s said he wants to play with De Bruyne.
“He’s want to go and play for Man City, there the best team and he wants to play for the best, so I would think that’s going to happen.”
