Dortmund issue no-nonsense response over Sadio Mane transfer claim
Borussia Dortmund have shot down a rumour linking them with Liverpool winger Sadio Mane with a no-nonsense three-word response.
A report says the Bundesliga side are preparing a €70m bid for the attacker in the upcoming window as they look for a potential replacement for Jadon Sancho who is expected to leave this summer.
The proposed offer would smash Dortmund's transfer record, three times the amount they paid for Mats Hummels from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2019.
But BVB have categorically denied the rumour and left little to the imagination in terms of how much truth there is in it.
The German club called the report “absolute horse s***” according to German football journalist Chris Williams.
Mane has been linked with a move away from Liverpool over the past year and speculation continues to grow after a poor season with Jurgen Klopp's men.
Klopp recently left him out of the 4-2 win against Manchester United which upset the winger as he snubbed his manager's handshake at full time.
Mane apologised after the match as Klopp played down the incident at the time.
He said: "If somebody shows me respect five million times and one time not, what is then more important? The world is in a situation when you make this one time bigger than necessary.
"That’s unfortunately the case. I hope for you that your boss, if you one time don’t show him respect, he then does not forget all the other stuff.
"I am completely relaxed about it. If you had seen me as a player what I did out of emotion was insane – and I’m a completely normal guy. But it happened to me. We will talk about it and then it will be sorted. Everything will be fine. That’s all."
