Dortmund chief says Erling Haaland is being ‘seduced’ ahead of upcoming transfer
Erling Haaland is said to have been 'seduced' by Real Madrid as Borussia Dortmund get ready to sell their star player during the summer transfer window in 2022.
The Norwegian forward is already one of the best strikers in world football despite his tender age of just 21, scoring 68 goals across 67 Bundesliga outings.
In addition, Haaland has 21 goals from just 17 Champions League appearances, and will be a fine addition for any club in Europe especially when they consider his modest buy-out clause of around £68m.
Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has now given an update on Haaland's future, and admitted that interest could be too much for the player to reject despite his career continuing to thrive in Germany.
Watzke told AS: "He is an independent personality.
"Anyway, at some point he will play for one of the best clubs in the world, although he is already playing for one of the best clubs in the world.
"But I know, of course, that Real Madrid seduces him."
Real Madrid looked to be cutting down in spending before bidding £170m for Kylian Mbappe during the summer window, and the arrival of those two forwards would likely put them back on top in European football.

Father Alf-Inge Haaland said of Erling's future last season: "If you play well, it's only logical that big clubs come knocking for you. But we're talking about speculation here.
"Neither Erling nor me are thinking about interest from other clubs. We signed a long contract with Dortmund, who are a fantastic team for Erling at the moment. We don't want to look further ahead yet.
"They take good care of him and are satisfied with his performances. He is allowed to play almost every week and repays the faith by scoring a lot of goals.
"What could be better? He is doing well. He is happy to be in Dortmund and to be playing for this club.
"You never know what will happen. We haven't talked about making such a step so far. I think he would like to win some titles with Dortmund. That's his goal.
"Erling can still achieve a great deal in Germany and make great progress. Leaving Germany is not a priority for us."
